This collection of poems is silly, informative, and sweet and simple. It has great artwork that students would love and poems that they could use within projects on different animals and tie reading/poems into a science/bio lesson. This would be great for all grade levels, even having the teacher read them aloud to kindergarteners to learn about animals through a different media.

This is a collection of nature themed poems focusing around the different animals that live in the wood, from “The Opossum“ to “The Bear.“ Some of the poems are more in depth and complex, but I found myself enjoying the shorter sillier ones. “The Skunk“ is only 14 words and just mentioned how you should give it room unless you care for “strong perfume.“
