Don‘t let the cheesy 1970‘s cover put you off this!

This is a well written contribution to the high-fantasy genre, by a woman author no less! It‘s somewhere between the style of Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings, including the subtle Christian overtones. Joy Chant was a well regarded author in her time, but sadly, she dropped out of sight by the early 1980‘s.

GondorGirl It may be a cheesy 70s cover, but she's not wearing a chainmaile bikini... I'd call that a win! 7y
BriKie @GondorGirl haha, I don‘t think I could have gotten past the cover if it had! 7y

Mehso-so

Ooof. I really thought I'd like this one, because I tend to like fantasy. But I couldn't get myself to care about the characters at all or what was happening to them. The language just didn't feel at all, um, vivid.
