Her problems multiply as she tangles with balancing friendships between two very different groups, one a group of girls her age and the other, an aspiring rock band in which the members are older and rougher than she is. Her relationships progress until she discovers a disturbing truth about one of her best friends. Join Tess as her idealism drives her to push herself past her comfort zone in an attempt to rescue her friend from his tortured past. Will she be able to help him, or drive him further into his hole? Will she be able to come away from the experience the same person?

This book is about this introverted new girl, Tess, having to face new challenges in a new city. She has two very different friend groups, one of all girls her age, and the other a group who are a band and are older and rougher than her. The group of girls her age aren‘t very fond of the older group, but the older group are very friendly toward her, and they make her feel safe and get her out of her comfort zone. ⬇️

sophie.grant Tess feels more close to the older group. 2 of the members are dating each other and the other one has feelings for Tess, and she develops feelings aswell. The problem is, she‘s now in love with someone who has a phobia of touch, so she wants to help him with his trauma.
Content/Trigger warning: sexual harassment, abuse, trauma, sensitive parts/topics
If you like books in the genre of romance or coming-of-age, I would recommend reading this.

sophie.grant We see the theme of Love and Hate in this book. The love part being about Tess‘ feelings for one of her older friends and them falling in love. The hate part being that one of the members who is in love with Tess, has a phobia of touch because of his very troubled past dealing with abuse and torture, physically mentally and sexually. We also see hate when one boy attempts to be intimate with Tess, but it makes her uncomfortable, and hates it. 2w

1/2 done. An introverted girl moves into a new city and has to face new challenges. She‘s part of two different friend groups, one a group of girls her age and the other a group in a band who are older and rougher than her. She builds a deep connection with the older group and feels as if that‘s where she belongs because they bring her out of her comfort zone. Until one day she discovered the terrible truth about one of her friends with trauma.

sophie.grant It is written in third person limited point of view, as it is explained through the shy girl in the book. I would recommend this if you enjoy reading about a little spicy teenage romance or coming of age-like related books. 1mo
