Pickpick

Not sure how O. Henry prize editors are prepped, but always a moral, “oh I learned something about being human” element reaching back to Henry himself. Brad Felver story had me bawling, deep KINDNESS that doesn‘t fall into sentimentality. Balancing kindness & pain.

52 “Our job is to make furniture that you hardly notice.”

60 “Do you ever feel,” he asked, “like your life is really just a preparation for another life that you‘ll never quite have?”

sarahbarnes Wow, that second quote. 4d
