4 posts | 4 read
What starts as a Hail Mary fake romance scheme turns into the real deal in this delightful story of holiday deception from Ali Rosen, author of Alternate Endings and Recipe for Second Chances.
Miriam Brody is dreading Hanukkah with her overbearing family in Charleston. Ditto for dreamy pro football player Cal Durand and Christmas. After sharing a few flirty drinks on the flight there, the strangers conspire to tackle the holidays together, posing as a couple. But as shenanigans unfold, Miriam realizes her feelings are anything but fake. Uh-oh. Are they headed for a holiday miracle—or a holiday disaster?
Ali Rosen’s Merry and Bright is part of Home Sweet Holidays, a cookie-sweet collection of holiday romances sure to bring color to your cheeks. Read or listen to each story in a single heart-fluttering sitting. And to fully immerse yourself in the charm of the season, don’t miss a special message from each of our holiday heroes!

This was so cute! Closed door fake boyfriend romance involving Miriam and Cal, who meet on a plane by chance and agree to attend family Hanukkah and Christmas festivities with one another. They were both not only tolerant of celebrating with people of a different faith than their own, but they were eager to learn the traditions, customs, and reasons. Just delightful!

Bonus: Cal gives Miriam a bouquet of cheeses that he made himself!! 🥰

This month's Amazon Originals were cute and fun and sweet and full of holiday spirit. SPLH was good, MAB and AWUIY were the standouts. YBNP was actually too short. I liked the characters and wish the story had had room for a little more depth.

Miriam isn't looking forward to Hanukkah with her family who always overlooks her, but a chance encounter with her seatmate on the airplane, leaves Miriam with a fake boyfriend as a buffer for her family over the eight nights. But as she sees more of who Cal is, she isn't sure she wants their relationship to end after spending Christmas Eve and Christmas with his family.
