Kid-chosen bedtime reading. He read about 1/3 and then I took over.
This is NOT a misprint or binding error. What do you call a book where the characters interact with the actual book? Is this the 4th Wall for kids? (Cute book, by the way!)
This title is a surprisingly engaging picture dictionary of foods and dishes from around the world with a full index. They are grouped in categories such as "Breakfast," "The deli," and "Southeast Asian restaurant." Minor issues include labels in a small curly font, a lack of pronunciation assistance, and the oddly combined "Mexican restaurant and Southern foods" category. Thick pages mean the book is school durable, and it has a menu-like feel.
"Hang on...why doesn't Wolfman try to eat Hood Girl then and there?"
Kid-chosen bedtime reading. This book has a few rare words and terms (for new readers) such as "longs for," triggers, plea, faithful, cell, and "guided by."
Mom-chosen bedtime reading tonight. This book explains how some leaves stop making chlorophyll in the Fall. Then the underlying pigments and new pigments show through. The text is simple, but informative.
