Chasing the cursed questions, but also reading a lot of manga on the way

An incredibly sweet and thoughtful little book. In such a short amount of time, it still manages to delve impressively deep into what it‘s like to be disabled in a society that is very much still in the process of destigmatizing disability. I‘m so glad it‘s a series, and I can‘t wait for the next to be translated!

Crime and Punishment | Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky
Pickpick

I read Dostoevsky the first time at exactly the right point in my life. In that same way, 2018 feels like the perfect time for a re-read. Seeing the darkness in Dostoevsky‘s St. Petersburg helped me to see the light in my own life. (And, as always, Pevear and Volokhonsky‘s translation is absolutely divine.)

A beautiful thing about books with white covers: the life they pick up as you live with them and love them 💕 (There‘s also something wonderfully thematically-appropriate about wear and tear on Dostoevsky‘s works...)

A beautiful little book that is all at once a deeply intimate account of two lives and a sweeping view of lesbian culture at certain places and times in Japan and Australia.
