Bree isn‘t a celebrity but a cardiologist yet she is being stalked and struggles to escape her (legitimate) fears. The only place she seems to find peace is in the pathologist‘s office. Wow wow wow. I had to make myself stop halfway to get some sleep before going back to The Secret Chord as soon as I woke up this morning. This novel is a rollercoaster of feelings, emotions and angst and I‘d happily go for more.

I read After The Glitter Fades first so I already kinda knew where this was going, and I really enjoyed the way the author went about it. I found myself at times feeling really sorry for Beth and her inability to deal with her insecurity even though there was so much love between her and Toni.

After a few very sweet romances, I was in the mood for something grittier. This is my first book by this author, and I‘m looking forward to the next one, especially as this is the start of a series. It's both romance and a very gripping thriller…
