'The Perfect Son' was a good read. The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't as much character development as usual. I figured out the mystery a chapter before the reveal.

I had to stop at my local library bc I was having trouble with Libby App. With 3 bookcases and my Kindle full, I leave with 4 books🤦♀️. I think I have a book problem 😂🤣😂📚❤️📚

Loved the new book by Nita Prose.
Molly the Maid has a whole new mystery to solve in this heartwarming novella from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Maid and The Mystery Guest.
A heartwarming, magical story about the true spirit of the season, The Mistletoe Mystery reminds us that love is the greatest mystery of all.
7 books read that were on my #Bookspinbingo board for September, though I read 16 books total for the whole month.

I found Lost in Austin an interesting book. Hannaford took a trip across America in 1999 and ended up falling in love with Austin. He takes us on a journey thru Austin, beginning in the 1970s to 2023.
He shows how fast the growth of a city wrecks havoc on the city. In the'70s to about 2003 Austin was a city for the eccentric and artistic. Tech moved in, and Austin's infrastructure became stressed. ⬇️

To me, this book is more for pastors and leaders in a church. LeClaire is a pastor with AHOP. She discusses how to be on the lookout for Jezebel's within churches. The characteristics of them, as well. She quotes Bible passages throughout the book.
Thanks to Goodreads and LeClaire for the e-book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Though this is fiction, it is based on some true facts. I learned that there were Greek Jews who were sent to concentration camps. I never learned this is school, or if I did, I forgot about it. Albom always writes a good book, and this one was no different. I cried through some of it. Highly recommend.
😊Happy Reading 😊

I love Agatha Raisin! She's a mid-life woman who always ends up in the middle of murder investigations. Agatha has finally married James, who I think is a jerk, but things aren't as happy as she thought they would be married. When James ends up missing and a woman acquitance is murdered, Agatha gets involved to clear James' name. Will Agatha, with the help of Charles, figure out what's really going on.

It took me 2 months to read this. I could only take it in small doses. You could tell she doesn't care for Trump, who most of the sheriffs she talked about support and like. A book I thought was going to be about Sheriff's and how they have changed through the years ended up to me as a political book. You may like it, but I just didn't enjoy it. Just my opinion and that's what's great about books. Each book hits each person differently.
Not in Database. A quick biography on Catherine Parr. Parr was the last wife of King Henry VIII. He was her third husband. She married him when he was moving England from the Catholic Church to Protestant. She was smart or conniving enough not to be put to death after Henry VIII's cabinet said she was going against him when she discussed church and faith with him. Interesting quick read.
😊Happy Reading😊

When I think of Molly the Maid, I think of a mystery. Nita Prose did a twist with ' The Mistletoe Mystery'. A mystery with a romantic twist at Christmas Time.
There's not a lot I can say about 'The Mistletoe Mystery ' without giving things away. I will say that Molly is head maid at the Regency Hotel still. Prose still makes her lovable and is really developing her. You will have to get the book when it hits bookshelves ⬇️
Quick historical fiction book about the fall of the Berlin Wall. Based on true events. Two different women. One in West Berlin. One in East Berlin. This follows their lives through 1989 up until the fall of the wall.
It's a good read. We get to see the difference between living in the two cities.

Not popular opinion, but I didn't care for the book. There was no character development. I did learn Alice Kyteler was the first woman in Ireland to be condemned as a witch. Others love it, so if you enjoy Witch books, you may give this a try.

I have to say J.D. Barker doesn't get the credit or accolades he deserves. 'Heavy Are The Stones' is a collaboration with Christine Daigle. They wrote a fabulous book together.
The characters were well built. I enjoyed the development of Jena Campbell. She struggled with a heavy decision. She's a detective with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. Detective Campbell made a decision 5 years ago, and now lives are in the balance.

I listened to 'The Serial Killer's Apprentice ' through the Libby App. One thing I think that needs to be said at the beginning is that this was a hard listen, and I imagine reading the book would be hard too. It's the subject matter, and only a mature audience should read it.
It delves into one of the country's most notable crimes. The Candyman in the 1970s in Houston. The authors dug into the research for this book.

I read this book in one day. I started it last night and finished this afternoon. I found it inspirational. I borrowed it thru Libby and took so many notes on my Kindle. I am going to buy it the next time I go to Mardel's Christian Store. I want my own copy to make notes and revisit. It's a great book for those who have a strong faith, those that aren't sure about some things and even those that don't know our Lord and ⬇️

Joseph Clampitt wrote a book of what I have only dreamed of doing. Going back to biblical times and talking with disciples. It was an inspirational book.
Clampitt talks to Paul in Ephesus. Taking a journey back 2000 years to learn why he can't hear what God says. I truly enjoyed it. I can't wait to get to heaven bc there's so many things in the Bible I want to discuss with the Disciples, Moses, Noah, David, and so many more.
I enjoyed this historical fiction book. Good character development and growth.

P.J. Tracy's 'City of Secrets' is the fourth book in the Detective Maggie Norton Seeies. P.J. Tracy is the pseudonym for Traci Lambrecht, and she started these books with her mom.

Wonderful cozy mystery! Ella Duke started the Dixie French Mystery Series off great. I fell in love with all the main characters in 'Something Dead the Cat Dragged In ', especially Dixie.
Dixie takes a vacation to Loblolly, S.C. to work on writing a book. She meets her landlord at a coffee shop, while there a guy drops dead. She's soon involved in a murder investigation, even though the deputy tells her to stay out of it. ⬇️

I found this to be a cute, cozy mystery. It was a little slow for me, but it picked up toward the end. I was half right about who was involved. It's the first in a new series. Even though this one was slow to me, I will read the next one. I enjoyed learning about Meave and Chiquita. McBride had good character development with Meave. Low pick. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Penrose's historical mystery is set in the 1810s. Wrexford and Charlotte are involved in the mysterious death of Jasper Milton.
I could tell that Penrose spent time researching this book. I enjoy reading a historical novel that I end up learning things from. I got a kick out of the Weasels. I could just imagine them getting into mischief. Penrose developed them in a way that showed their youthfulness ⬇️

Holy Moly! To say Viola Davis had a hard life growing up is such an understatement! From poverty, sexual abuse, and growing up with an alcoholic father, which I know personally is very hard, bullying and being ashamed to becoming a wonderful actress, she overcame a lot. I'm not a gamer, but I enjoyed 'Red Dead's History'' . Olsson wrote in a way that kept me intrigued. I ended up being interested in how close this game actually was to American history. The game is set in 1899 in the West, the South and Applician. Red Dead looks at the cowboy life, the Buffalo, as well as other stuff in the West. The South deals with the Civil War, slavery, and sufferagist, and cotton. While Applician comes in as the ⬇️
I listened to this, and it was a hard book to listen to.
Lanah Sawyer is 17 years old in 1793, when her life is changed forever by rape. The sad thing, I realized while listening to this, is that very little has changed in 233 years since Sawyer pressed charges against her rapist. For some reason, society still ridicules a woman because of rape instead of the man. Sawyer reported and pressed charges being the first woman in America ⬇️
