This book made me think. A lot. What would I do in similar situations? How forgiving can I be? Can you make morally right choices when your entire surroundings are evil? How hard would it be to stay in the background and be supportive as your husband rides off into resistance and historical heroism..... and you are left alone with three children and a crumbling way of life. I could not put this down. I devoured it in two days. It haunts me.
