There was a terrible, terrible accident a few towns over over the weekend. Young men, early 20s, lost their lives. Their car lost control, was airborne and smashed through a second story commercial building in the middle of the night. The car hit the building upside down and trunk first. I didn't know them, I can't imagine what their families are going through but I am so, so, so sad. I can't imagine how scared they must have been. How their ...

ReadingOverSleeping Families have to cope. Some are saying they weren't found for hours, were they waiting up for them? I can't imagine what they must be going through. I realize tragedy happens every single day. I'm not naive by any means. But this hit me really hard. 2w
Freespirit How awful...young lives lost..so sad😥 2w
Texreader I read about this accident in the news. So sad. A good friend and her little sister died in a car accident when I was a junior in high school. It was so horrible for the family to lose both children. Now that my daughter is driving (about a month now) I‘m overwhelmingly worried every time she drives my son anywhere. I trust her beyond words. But the other drivers? 😢 2w
ReadingOverSleeping @Texreader I'm so sorry for your loss 💙 ... I hope the transition is easy for you. I remember telling my parents not to worry, as an adult now, I understand their anxiety and I don't even have kids! Sending good vibes your way, wishing you and your family an infinite amount of safety and love! 1w

One of the craziest parts about this series is how they use blurbs from real-life articles and studies. When we read these books, it's comforting to know it's "not possible" in our societies but these blurbs really show we're closer than we think. Terrifying. #unsouled #unwind

Lucy_Anywhere I need to read the rest of this series - I really enjoyed UnWind. It raised a lot of interesting dilemmas 2w
ReadingOverSleeping @Lucy_Anywhere the rest of the books are just as good! I agree with you. Seems like a crazy concept but when you see the flashes of political propaganda it comes together 2w

Buechersuechtling Ouch. I would feel manipulated and not taken serious if someone would keep repeating my key message. Like: “Yes. But thank you, my mind still works well. I remember my statement.” 1mo
ReadingOverSleeping @Buechersuechtling I agree!! It's a very fine line and if you're not genuine about helping a client it can really backfire. But I'll be honest, I used this in a corporate setting and the silence after the question (and it can't be EVERY thing that comes out of their mouth) is GOLD. But first things first, you have to know your audience before anything else and see what works 1mo

I'm generally a happy positive person. I got into a petty situation with an associate I didn't provoke and I REALLY kept it together, I want a cookie for that. But since then I've come across 3 other parties who have been just rude and belligerent messing my day up completely.. Incidents on separate days wouldn't bother me much less but I'm so in my feelings now. Sorry for the rant, Litsy has become my #safeplace

Buechersuechtling Vent your spleen. Life ain‘t always a catwalk and life ain‘t always about books – even though I‘d sometimes like it more if it was – so for me, rants and vents are always welcome. By the time I realized this book wasn't going to get any better, I was too invested in the story and finished to find out how everything will come together. I found it a little too neat but I do appreciate it acknowledge student-teacher relationships in a way that it can open the door for conversation with teenagers. The "past" was well written but the "present" was too much of a reach - No depth but a ton of whining. Pass. #teamsleep

rather_be_reading NO WAY! 2mo
Buechersuechtling Yeah, I feel the same. I mean, what do they mean❓ I did a quick research and it seems there will be a fourth volume. No sequel but a prequel to the “Hunger Games”. The story shall be set 64 years before the plot so far and tell about the “Dark Era” – a period of an unsuccessful rebellion in Panem. (Which I don‘t remember to have read about in the trilogy. Did I just forget❓🤔) But anyway, thanks a lot for your post. 2mo

I absolutely LOVED this witchy read! The storyline graples you immediately, a small village gives up their youngest baby to a witch in the forest every year. Really enjoyed another book with strong female leads! Luna is a bright, strong and powerful little witch coming into her own but she is only part of the story. Definitely recommend this, especially for young readers. #teamnosleep for #girlwhodrankthemoon

This is more than a coming of age story. It's about a young woman brave even violence for the sake of what is right while being stifled by everyone around here for being a witch. Lots of folklore in this witchy trilogy and I enjoyed it. Great example of nothing is simply good/evil. Not for children by any means but it's a great for young female readers seeing a character so enriched, strong and beautifully wild. #teamnosleep #winterofthewitch

LittleBug I loved this trilogy too! Absolutely agree with your comment about a strong female role model☺️ 2mo

This was really entertaining. This author gives a different perspective of the "good" fairies and Malificent retelling the fact that there's good and bad in all of us, it's what you choose to embrace that makes you who you are. Disney is notorious for helpless females so I appreciated this mini-monolouge from the Mistress of Evil. This was my least favorite so far, regardless it's still a fun read. Ursala's back story is heart wrenching, full of sadness and turmoil and it really shows how hate can build and become fuel for spite and heartlessness. Odd Sisters, though they were much less vindictive in this one. I missed that. The only thing I don't like is tying in the next book randomly to hook you. I'm really torn with this book, about halfway through. I keep getting frustrated with Louise, no one is this stupid. No one gets tangled up this quickly at her age in BS this deep.
