I think this book has some very valuable insights on modern community interaction, or the lack thereof, but for some reason I found it very difficult to read. It wasn't the vocabulary or sentence structure. I see that some folks who really liked it listened on audiobook and I found that interesting. I think I would have appreciated it in that form. Perhaps, it would have been most effective as a podcast.

Dr Jahren weaves fascinating information about science with poignant accounts of her life, but never too much. She managed to leave me wanting to learn more: more about plants, more geology, and more about her life. Great read.
