Scottish mystery series set on the isle of West Uist. Loved the character development. This was a great start to a new series.

I love libraryThing and have been reviewing for sometime now. Looking forward to the merge of LibraryThing and Litsy.

This is a story of high society, secrets, lies, blackmail, misunderstandings and deathly tension.
Evie is the main character and Lester has been careful not to overshadow her with the delectable Thomas Whitman or, his mother, the delightful Mrs Whitman. It‘s hard not to fall in love with these characters but the supporting characters are just that, coming in and out of the story to support or deter Evie where needed.

I really enjoyed this eerie and confronting coming of age. With a limited plot it was down to the characters to draw you in and be interesting and they certainly were. Every character had their own distinct voice and all were a little withdrawn, sullen and down trodden. Much like the town the novel is centred round.

The story didn‘t flow well. Backstory kept pulling me away from the main plot.

A story about 4 women who met through an online weight loss forum. Eventually meeting in real life the women become firm friends. A friendship that will change their lives forever. I loved this story! Chick Lit with substance.
Covers issues of weight,body image, marriage, infertility and more.

I haven't been around much on Litsy lately. Hoping to get back into it and find some great recommendations.

If you find this story slow going put it aside and pick it up again. Your perseverance will be rewarded.
The last 40 pages had me in tears. When the emotion was added it was real. I would read this book again.

Monsoon Summer is a character driven story with well developed and sympathetic characters.
Gregson has written an intelligent and emotional story that is both heart breaking and uplifting. This is a story about love, family, culture, class, forgiveness and acceptance. About fighting for what you believe in but most of all fighting for those you love.
Recommended for all readers of Historical Fiction.

The Shell is filled with danger, suspense and mystery.The beautiful descriptions of Broome and the surrounding areas of Cape Leveque, Middle Lagoon and The Buccaneer Archipelago confirm Boyd‘s knowledge and love of the area.

More than just a romance. I enjoyed this story and fell in love with Alejandro. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Love this slow paced walk through the lives of Agatha, Beatrice, Hugh and Daniel.

Hill knows what he us writing about. The story was very realistic. A political thriller with plenty of action and a little romance.

If you've been postponing reading The Lake house because of the size I'd say read it, don't wait any longer. This is a fabulous story of family, love and secrets ( stories within a story) almost 600 pages and I didn't want it to end.
