"Always remember you matter, you're important and you are loved, and you bring to this world things no one else can."

This book is a beautiful masterpiece. Short and sweet, but also extremely powerful in an unexpected way.

I had rivers of tears rolling down my face by the time I finished it. This just may be my favorite book of 2019.

TheEllieMo My local bookseller has been raving about this one. 3w

My book came in today!! Which makes me extremely happy because this book will be one of the many Italian books I read next year.

I've read parts of this in college for one of my classes and liked what I read then so I'm excited to read the entire book now 💜

I know it's a little early, but I'm starting to plan for my personal reading challenge for 2020.

The theme: Italian
Book count goal: 30-40

I'm looking for books that are either 1) by an Italian author, 2) set in Italy, or 3) about Italy.

This is where I need some help.

Outside of the obvious authors like Primo Levi, Italo Calvino, Andrea Camilleri, and Elena Ferrante who are some authors or titles I should add to my list?

Megabooks She originally wrote this in Italian about how learning it helped her find her voice as an author. 1mo
Megabooks Also Umberto Eco. I enjoyed 1mo
cassiopia @Megabooks she published a collection of Italian short stories earlier this year. I'm thinking of buying it as a Christmas gift for myself. 1mo

Two truths and a lie:

1 - This book had me in a state of wonderment the entire time.

2 - I thought Emma had something to do with the girls disappearance.

3 - I'm not a fan of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

This book was great!! I loved how Sager incorporated the truth/lie game throughout the entire story from when Emma first went to Camp Nightingale, her return to camp 15 years later, and even after! I definitely recommend this baby.

Guys, I need advice.

Last night I had a customer come in with her children and her niece. Her niece is dyslexic and has a very hard time reading, but she wants to read. Are there any tricks or tips that I can do or give to help her out? I want to make sure that she knows that I'm there to help her out in any way I can. They'll be coming to my store every weekend for storytime.

Thanks in advance 💜💜

BookNAround My 10 year old nephew with dyslexia uses a free service that reads the books to him as he follows along in the print version. Not sure what it‘s called though. 4mo
LitLogophile I‘m dyslexic and have lots of tips! One option is audio read along, also Kindles come with a “dyslexia” font option that make the letters more readable to dyslexic individuals. Also would highly recommend The Dyslexic Advantage, which is written in a way that makes it easy for dyslexic readers😊 4mo
BBooks I'm dyslexic, it was discovered when I was in the 2nd grade and was fortunate enough to get help and mine is not as severe as others but was frustrating all the same. It still a challenge especially when I'm tired. Let her know shes not alone and being aware if half the battle. Practice, practice, practice and don't let dyslexia stop you reading what you want to read is my advice. 📚📚📚 4mo

cassiopia @BookNAround thank you! I will do some really to find out what service that is. 4mo
cassiopia @LitLogophile @BBooks thank you both! I will make sure I let her about all the options she has. I never thought of reading along with an audiobook, and that's so obvious. Thank you so much 💜 4mo
LibrarianRyan I agree along with everyone else. read along with an audio book. I do not remember if dyslexia is one of the educational disabilites that qualifies for TBBS service, but I do believe it does qualify for Bookshare service. Both of these services are free audiobooks for the blind, visually handicapped, and some educational disorders. 4mo
