A mediocre cozy mystery to help me reach my reading goal! Every book I finish from here on out is bonus over achievement 😆
I'm not expecting a literary masterpiece, but I'm on vacation and already finished a book on the plane, so I'm on a roll and in the market for easy reading and quick hits. Only 2 books left to reach my goal for this year! (34/36 if you wondered)
Getting through the second half of this book has been an uphill battle. Nothing wrong with the story. I'm just feeling lazy and only want to read articles about decluttering the house and fashion on a budget. 😆
How embarrassing! I found this in a decluttering session. We got this book as a wedding gift and I've never read it or even skimmed through it. We celebrate our 10 year anniversary in March so... 🤷🏻♀️🤪
I always have such high hopes of getting a lot of reading done on vacation but reality usually doesn't match up. We're home from our trip now and I didn't get through as much of this as I wanted, but it was still more than I realized! Hoping to finish in a week or so! Any good tips for fitting in more reading during trips??
You guys! We got this from the library for my daughter. This kids book reads like it should be part of a true crime documentary with both sides telling different tales. It'd make a great "whodunnit" kind of story. I want this made into a show! ??
What my husband doesn't know won't hurt him and he has no idea I posted this. 😂 As much as I love reading, I have a tough time starting new books, so last night I asked my husband to read the first page to me. I had hoped his literal start would help me pick up the rest. It worked! Mainly because the first page was a bit nonsensical and I had to grab it to make sure he wasn't messing with me. Then I proceeded to finish the first chapter. 😁
This is giving me some good giggles. 😄
I just had a very sudden and real urge to wipe my TBR list clean and just start over. The idea freaks me out but I'm very curious if anyone else has done it. Thoughts??
Apparently it's been 11 months since my last post. I took a break from Litsy to actually focus on reading instead of scrolling through my feed to see what everyone else was reading. I was lured back by the newly launched website/desktop. I checked it out and was reminded how much I missed a bookish community. Hi again! (5.28.19)
What a lovely day to read outside! I usually break my reading slumps with celebrity memoirs of somewhat questionable caliber. 😄 Happy Memorial Day to all, and a big thank you especially to those who have served and made the greatest sacrifice there is. 🇺🇸
Isn't it nice when your book mark and book title work together to give you a wonderful message?
My library haul... Even though I made a bookalution to only read what I own... Oops!
1. The Sparrow, for @EclecticReaders IRL book club
2. Neverwhere, because I'm a newbie to Neil Gaiman😲
3. Pride and Prejudice, for an insanely specific square in #5book5bingo
4 and 5. Seige and Storm/Ruin and Rising, because I just finished Shadow and Bone and need to read the rest of the trilogy
Warning: kind of personal blurb. Up next for #11thHourReadathon, I started this last year when I first started going to therapy. I still go, which is hard to admit, but #mentalhealth needs to be discussed more, so I'm starting with me. We still talk about my caretaking tendencies, but I never finished the book. I will for 2017, but plan to reread and work on the prompts next time. Here's to taking better care of our minds and hearts in 2018! ❤
I'm at 83% of Anna Karenina thanks to @SerialReader and apparently that's about 286k words that I've read so far (since it's the only thing I've read on the app)! Bonus that my badge references a place I've heard of and kind of live near.
I'm catching up on @EclecticReaders podcast and episode 42 about Pachinko introduced me to the bookjig! A clip with a ribbon to bookmark your pages... I just... I can't... I WANT!!!
I'm 6 months behind everyone else who finished the #ERmadlibs challenge during the #eclecticreadathon back in June but I did it, I'm done! I actually completed one of my 2017 challenges!! I look forward to getting my mad libs from @EclecticReaders !!
Now I just have to finish #bookbingo, #litsyatoz, and my #goodreads challenges!
I took the day off work with every intention of reading so much that I might throw up lol but life gets in the way and this morning was busy. I'm finally getting a minute to snuggle up cozy on the couch and try to finish A Curious Man, a biography about Leroy Robert Ripley of Ripley's Believe It or Not fame. Quirky man, but quite the life he led.
