Now, you know who truly needs to read this...and not just chapter 8...

I will be referring to my hard copy throughout my career. I may toss the rest of my professional development books, except I don‘t like the idea of throwing away books. However, unlike other career development books, I can use this one in whole instead of having to carve out bits & pieces and chop up some mosaic of advice that maybe I can apply to how my life actually works.

I finished this book a few days ago and I haven‘t been able to say anything about it. Then I realized I was...sad. I‘m sad that I‘ve come to the end of this wonderful novel. I haven‘t felt this way about a book in a quite some time. I just had to sit and come to terms with my sadness, which is really joy when you think of it. #bookjoy #booksadness #readharderchallenge #supportlibraries

The first addition to my “DNF” file. She tells you in the intro it‘s not a “how to” or a serious dating book, but I didn‘t expect it to be so utterly absurd. Someone published this? When can we start complaining about giving vapid white women a platform to say nothing the way we complain about white dudes having access just for being white dudes?

This is the fourth book I‘ve read by this author and my favorite of the four. Perhaps because it touches on a personal button or several. Im not a visual learner, but I find her use of charts drawn in the book helpful to internalizing the mental process she‘s trying to get you to adopt.

I am disappointed at the blatant disregard for the law in favor of the wealthy. It was one thing when they were skirting one local police officer for Scotland Yard to avoid a personal conflict. It's another thing entirely to help someone escape the country, then falsify evidence & official documentation to report the incident as an accident to protect the imaginary virtue of a woman to whose husband it matters not because he already knows. Meh.

Some of the twists are quite fun. The ending wrap-up was disappointing. Unlike similar books of this vain, no one actually killed her, or so we‘re told. It‘s still inconclusive if you ask me.

Frustrating & disappointing and I don‘t even know why I bother with this genre any more. Naledi is cool and I‘d read more about her, but I don‘t like this book. Jamal/Thabiso is a selfish liar and never changes, but since he‘s supposedly been dreaming about her forever, it‘s all romantic and cool *eye roll.* To read Naledi even try to take partial blame for his weak attempts at explaining, I cannot.

I don‘t generally suffer from the pain of not being myself, but I am human and I have my moments where the outside pressures have too much of an impact on my life. The “mental redecorating” approach of this book is preferable to the “conform and change” advice of most books. SO READ THIS ONE INSTEAD!

This is now the third book I‘ve read by this author and I‘ve only been marginally annoyed by her twice (no one is perfect). #audiobook #nonfiction

This took me a long time to read - I had to renew my library rental 3x. I‘m not entirely sure why, but perhaps because I didn‘t find Hades to be an intriguing villain. After the first encounter, he pretty much fell flat to me. Thursday, however, I like. So I‘ll read the next one. #ebook #kindle #libraries #bookrecs

The overwhelming majority of my Kindle notes are, “ugh.” The only thing I liked about this book was Ms. Gretchen. This was written and published for a white audience. In fact, I dare say, it might as well be a white story but for the insertion of hot button topics for black women and lots of “giiiiiirl” dialogue. #bookclub #bwauthors

This was my first Manga and first opportunity to read a book not printed in the Western style - I enjoyed both aspects. I found myself very interested in the food descriptions and cultural explanations. My one down side for this book is that the petty and surly drama between Yamasaki Shirō and Kaibara Yūzan is annoying & I think it detracts from the spirit of the book. Perhaps in other volumes this is not the case. At least I hope so. #readharder

The information is easy to digest & I like the organization of the material. I‘m giving it a “so-so” instead of a “pick” because it didn‘t meet my expectations. Based on the blurb & several recommendations, both personal & general, I expected more life hacks to living your perfect “when.” Overall, it‘s a good read.
