Hello everybody! I‘m new here! But with a little review) Actually I didn‘t like this book, because for me it was about thoughts of many drank persons. It was pretty strange.

A recently fired cable fitter and severe alcoholic rides a train to Petushki, where his girlfriend waits. The book, sometimes referred to a prose poem, is the character's monologue as he travels, rants, and has drunken conversations with persons, angels, and demons (some or all imaginary). It is considered a classic Russian novel of the Breznev era, full of dark humor and social commentary. I did laugh quite a bit at its acerbic character.
