Edna in the Desert | Maddy Lederman
1 post | 2 to read
Edna is a precocious trouble-maker wreaking havoc at her Beverly Hills school. Her therapist advocates medication, but her parents come up with an alternative cure: Edna will spend the summer in the desert with her grandparents. Their remote cabin is cut off from cell phone service, Internet and television. Edna's determined to rebel until she meets an older local boy and falls in love for the first time. How can she get to know him from the edge of nowhere?

Mehso-so

A curious read that has our young leading lady rambling through a desert for the summer, both literally and figuratively, but in the end, she finds so much more than she ever anticipated. First love, family, the beauty in the stillness of life... not to mention the heavier issues dealt with, encouraging further research after the book ends.
Also, I gotta say... I'm digging the new cover; much more befitting our little desert rose. 😊
