At the end of the 22nd century, all the nations left on Earth are invited by a benign alien race to bid for joint development of a new planet. Captain Gilmore and his ship, the Ark Royal, expect an easy mission. But soon the Ark is caught in a high-pressure fight against enemies both alien and familiar.
