This was a very fast-paced read. There wasn't a whole lot in the way of a plot or any crazy twists or character development, but it was such a feel-good book. I couldn't put it down.

As it turns out, The Trial was almost too close to my everyday job for comfort so I'm taking a break and moving on to Mary Mary. My mom got this for my for Christmas and she generally does quite well with a Christmas book, so I'm looking forward to this!
Lesley Crewe never disappoints me. Her characters always feel like people I knew in my "growing up" years in small town Nova Scotia. I love that the curmudgeonly character shows their soft side, the seemingly unredeemable is redeemed and the nice character finds happiness. A wonderful Christmas time read
