so-soI‘ve read my fair share of Arctic exploration books over the years, but this one, a strange blend of fiction and authentic quotes from the 1872-74 Austro-Hungarian north pole expedition, didn‘t really do it for me. It‘s lacking the introspectiveness of a real novel and the accuracy of an actual travelogue, resulting in chapters and storylines that felt disconnected and tedious.
