Sundays are difficult as I no longer have a church family. To see hundreds of us leave because of this very quote. Breaks my heart. Everyone is welcome. Everyone. Jesus. Loves.

Dragonfairykats My mom and I watch 2 pastors on tv since we don't have a church. I've learned a lot from them, and it's brought me closer to God. 5y
Fridameetslucy I‘m sorry that we have to collectively go through this divisiveness which just breaks the broken more and makes the intractable more bitter and as we see, more sadistically cruel . There is only now. There is only this moment. There is only one earth. Love is love is love is love ... (edited) 5y

TheBookHippie @Dragonfairykats I have a church I go to in Chicago when I‘m there and I listen to the podcast when not. I agree it‘s wonderful. I miss the physical being in person. Sigh. How wonderful for your mom and you! Which one do you watch? 5y
TheBookHippie @Fridameetslucy it is so far from Jesus it‘s ridiculous ...everything you‘ve said is so so true. 5y
cornfedwellread I hope you can find a new community. I've been having a hard time with this, too. 5y
Kappadeemom Jesus came to minister to the meek and broken-hearted. A lot of Christians can‘t separate the sin from loving the sinner in my opinion and therefore they don‘t speak with love. Its sad that what we say leads so many to leave the Church. 5y
TheBookHippie @Kappadeemom I agree I had the same church for 38 YEARS. They‘ve decided our current administration is in fact god and they should be exclusive not inclusive... breaks my heart 5y
Dragonfairykats @TheBookHippie We watch Dr. Charles Stanley (In Touch) and Dr. David Jeremiah (Turning Point). Mom has just started watching Alan Jackson as well. 5y
TheBookHippie @therealdealbeall We are looking ...it‘s just hard. And that‘s okay. I can‘t imagine doing this and not being spiritually sound. 5y
Dragonfairykats @TheBookHippie It's taken almost 2o years for me to return to the church and welcome God back into my heart after becoming disillusioned with the Catholic church. @Kappadeemom People are so intent on believing what makes their behavior acceptable, that they forget or ignore the Word. Some organized religions have taken their followers far from God's will, causing many to leave and seek out another way to fol4Him. 5y
TheBookHippie @Dragonfairykats I‘ll look them up! I feel ya on the disillusion! 5y
Christy2318 Word! I gave up church for this and a few other reasons years ago. There is a new United Church of Christ plant close to me that is open & welcoming to all. But it‘s tiny & I‘m a very introverted person who is a bad joiner. I think about going to it again & then remember the multiple messages inviting me to things after the first time I went. Peopling is hard. 5y

Louise Wise words. I‘m headed to a writing workshop next week with a teacher who emphasizes the role of the writer as “enlivening language” to protect it from the deadening effects of lazy and superficial usage. (edited) 5y
