Plot: 3/5. While the overarching plot was pretty solid (if a little predictable), the out-of-nowhere plot twists hampered more than helped the flow of the story and made it hard to believe, much less to be scared by.
so-soI finished this one on audio today. I liked the plot but some of the book felt like it needed more editing. For someone who reads and knows a lot of paranormal history, some of the passages explaining witchcraft, ghosts, and demons were bit boring and superfluous. I thank part of is also that I'm pretty familiar with Charleston and it's ghost stories so I don't need all the background explanation. Overall it was still an okay read.
