I Hate Everything
I Hate Everything | Matthew DiBenedetti
1 post | 2 read
I hate that I'm going bald. I hate that I still make fun of bald people. I hate karma. Amateur haters, step aside. Time to learn what it really means to be miserable. Because this guy hates everything. From hating the little irks that happen now and then (like the water that squirts out of the mustard bottle) to hating the unfortunate realities of today's world (like that superheroes don't exist . . . but villains do), Matthew DiBenedetti tells readers how he really feels. With such a variety of miserable musings, you'll find something to laugh at--and someone to loathe with--in this book.

#BookishPetPeeves I could complain all day because I am great at complaining about things but I kept it simple for today. I also made a list. And made it cute. And tried really hard to not directly complain about men. I kept it subtle.

ContraryMary Love this. 8y
KarenUK Love this too 😍 8y
josie281 Great list! My 14yr old son said his current favorite genre is bad timing romance as he grabbed some YA off my shelf. Take that chick lit label! 8y

moranadatter True and even when books written for specific audiences are primarily written by women, the major award winners tend to be written by men. I'm looking right at you, YA. 8y
Laalaleighh Omg I HATE the term "chick lit"!!!! 8y
queerbookreader @kmdartist YEP, YA. 1) not taken seriously bcz the main demographic are teen girls 2) not taken seriously bcz female authors are majority contributors to the genre 3) major award winners in the YA genre are written by men and/or are about boys. YA is terrible about this. And the wave of YA vampire fantasy series the last 10 years have made ppl scorn the entire genre even more 8y
sprainedbrain Love this!! 8y
queerbookreader @Laalaleighh it's literally a garbage term. It totally undervalues the entire genre solely bcz the name of the genre implies that it's only for women and ofc things that women are into aren't taken seriously bcz hello patriarchy so women are judged for liking it and then men are judged for liking it and it's all so stupid!!!!! Meg Cabot is my fav author and half her shit is considered chick lit!! Anyways it's dumb same with "chick flick" 8y
Laalaleighh I completely freaking agree! Ever noticed that stuff that girls do/like is always considered inherently inferior to men's interests? Drives me crazy. 8y
