This was a sweet historical romance filled with secret affection, betrayal, and forgiveness. I don't usually read romance, but I truly enjoyed this one. There was one detail that bothered me. A character suffered from anxiety, so everyone else treated her like a little kid, and acted like she didn't deserve to fall in love because her anxiety would prevent her from being a good wife. But that attitude improved by the end.
