5/5🌟 We find our narrator, Heroine in Montreal in the 1980's laying in a bathtub. In a dream like sequence her memories of love and politics from the unsettling times of Montreal in the 70's float to the surface, seeing her struggle between finding love and breaking her deep ties in left wing politics, with the backdrop of volitile times in Montreal made this a tense and potent read. Political, Feminist and Queer. Out now! #bookreview

3.5-4⭐️ I enjoyed this one. I like Janetti‘s writing and humor. This is different than his IG account. It‘s more introspective and ruefully reminiscing as he reveals snapshots of his life. Janetti almost takes on a Walter Mitty approach to life in his imaginings of various scenarios in his head which show us, he‘s a dreamer at heart. He admits to being petty. He is. Yet, this book reveals he‘s human. It‘s a combo of humor and partial memoir.

5/5🌟With honesty, humour and pristine storytelling Gildiner has written a facinating look at therapy and psychology and its power to heal. I loved how she spoke of behind the scenes with these patients as well as their journeys together. How these patients changed her as well as themselves. This was such a moving read. Shedding light on how people can cope with severe trauma and come out the other side, heartbreaking and inspiring. #bookreview

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just wow! I loved this book so much. The characters were all great. I felt they were easy to connect to and imagine as real.

It honestly read less like fiction and more like I self told true crime. I was kept curious throughout the entire story.

The ending was very sad but unfortunately so inline with human nature!

I absolutely loved this book. I loved Eleanor‘s journey to hopefully becoming completely fine. It‘s interesting I read this book as I am struggling with loneliness and depression and anxiety as well. I thank Ms. Honeyman for tackling mental illness in a novel. 5⭐️ #2019 #bookreview #fiction #bookclub #bookstagram

melissajayne And yes I have self-harmed myself when things get rough. While I haven‘t drank myself almost to death, I have punched holes in walls, I have broken things, I have overeaten, I have overspent, and most recently I have purposely bitten on my own forearm (by the way: it left a nasty bruise that is still healing). I have also contemplated suicide, the most recent time being on Sunday. (edited) 1w
melissajayne I am going to a mental health unit tomorrow (Thursday) morning to see what kind of help I can get. 1w
Libby1 @melissajayne - I really hope you find help and comfort today. ❤️ 1w
Megabooks @melissajayne I‘m really glad you‘re getting help. 15 years ago, a friend made me an appointment with her psychiatrist, and it was one of the most positive, life-changing things a friend has done for me ever. I hope you find the right help the first time, but if you don‘t, keep knocking, keep asking because you are strong enough to fight for a good life. Put your whole self into it because that‘s what it takes. 💕💕💕 Sending strength! 1w
Sace So glad you made that appointment! 👏👏👏 And Hugs ❤️ 1w

4/5🌟This book is beautiful inside! The photography, layout and quotes themselves. I'm not one that has used affirmations in my life much before but as someone who can worry too much and get anxiety I decided to be open minded and give this book a try. I did find it helpful without being preachy. The layout makes it super user friendly. I will definitely return to this one as needed for motivation and positive energy. #bookreview #bookstagram
