This book was first published in 1995, and only now got translated into German. It reads like an early draft of “Empusion“. It's not yet as good as said one, but already a true Tokarczuk. E.E. is Erna Eltzner, but during most of the story she's not treated like a real human being. She's just E.E., a study object, a medium, “just“ a girl. We learn about the humans she connects and about science around 1900 (key word: hysteria).

Some Polish liquor with my #Polish literature! I need some liquid courage before I start some cleaning around here. My muscles are so sore I can just barely make it down stairs, so the prospect of washing floors on my knees is quite terrifying. If you never hear from me again I wasn't able to get back up.

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled But I think that Polish liquor should have you ship-shape!! 7y

I've seen other people post book adding requests as Blurbs so I thought I'd try as well since none of the 20-30 books I've requested over the last year have been added. 👍 Can @Litsy please add Ostatnie historie by Olga Tokarczuk?
