Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects--and he's bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal or his life?"

I'm pretty happy with how this ended - I dont think it could have been concluded satisfactorily in any other way! I do feel that the eliminating of a *certain death* in an earlier volume could have made the finale even better, but... Maybe I'm just bitter 😂

And I'm finished with Death Note! It's been great revisiting the story in it's original form. I love the ambiguity of right and wrong, and the focus on the Sherlock v. Moriarty like relationship between Kira and L. It's such a good series and one I'm sure I'll have trouble moving on from as I find something new to read.

Death Note finished with a bang! There were some spots during the series where I didn't like the direction, but it sure did polish up well in the end.
