"I find it comforting. It's solid and constant,[...] I tell myself that, in contrast, my life is insignificant. Others were here before me. Others have suffered worse. When I look at the mountain, I can practically feel the hot breath of pursing Spanish soldiers. I imagine the panicked Native Americans running through the weeds, sharp stones cutting their bare feet"
UM WHAT. THAT SHOULDN'T BE A COMFORTING THOUGHT

Pickpick

I was fortunate to receive an advanced copy of this book. It's a quick read and I enjoyed learning about Krista and her life. The book takes place 2 years after a family tragedy and explores how Krista is coping. She believes everyone has moved on but her, and she's having a hard time with their decisions. Krista's feelings and frustration come through as we learn more about the tragedy. It's a good read for YA going through tough times.
