Fun read with a rebellious teenager MC. Great Indian American and Deaf rep! I definitely recommend reading it.

Excellent book 2 for a series. Some small inconsistencies, but overall great. Fast paced and fun end of summer read.
Fast paced and fun. It's MG but I really enjoyed it! Perfect end of summer read.
Furthermore was so creative with a few moments that felt very Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait for the companion novel, Whichwood, to be released later this year!
I loved volume 1 and can't wait to read the rest! I especially love how realistic Kamala is in regards to being an American teenager. 💖
I haven't read this one and I probably won't because of the fatphobia CW, but I've seen ownvoices reviewers saying the trans rep is good, even though it's not ownvoices.
TW/CW: transphobia (from MC's dad), fatphobia, deadnaming and misgendering (MC not fully out).
This book broke my heart. I've heard from ownvoices readers that the latinx rep is brilliant. It definitely needs some trigger warnings, but I don't have the space here so check my IG (@vicariousbookworm) for the full list. 💖
Coming of age contemporary. Supportive family rep. TW: transphobia (addressed on the page)
ownvoices for:
- trans (author and cover model)
Excellent Indian rep! Beautiful summer romance between a STEM girl and an artist boy.
ownvoices:
- Indian American
Excellent rep for psychological abuse (familial). Beautiful romance between two girls. Established sexuality/no coming out. Soft boy best friend.
ownvoices:
- bisexual
I feel like it‘s not quite as good as the first three books, but it‘s definitely still kept some of my attention on the series. There is somewhat of a cliffhanger at the end. I‘m anticipating the release of the fifth book in August!

Throughout the story, I found myself getting comfortable with the way things were heading and hoping for Ari, Cvareh, and Flor to succeed in their quest. Of course, before I could allow myself to be completely comfortable with the flow of things, it was interrupted by perfectly timed plot twists. It was very interesting and immersive.
