We went out for a traditional smørrebrød lunch today! These are open-faced sandwiches, usually served on thick, dense, dark rye bread (?) with a variety of different toppings. I chose two: a chicken and mushroom pot pie situation and this roast pork with crispy kale. Ian chose a smoked salmon, eggs, and asparagus sandwich and a beef tartare with egg yolk and tomatoes. SO GOOD! I will be baking this bread at home for sure!
ferskner If you don't want to bake it (I've never had great success with it, but I also don't do a lot of bread), you can usually find it in German sections of the grocery store. Nom nom nom 8y
