This is a side book of the series. It features a secondary character from the series. The plot is a bit twisted, the characters‘ developments are done really well. Marinina‘s strength is how the reader gets to care about the characters and what happens to them. The setup: vacation city on the Black Sea, the Russian 90s, corruption, mafia with a dash of movie glitter and some self insertion of a mystery writer. I liked it quite a bit. 3 1/2 ⭐️

Up really early... cats were up at 5am. Had time to finish the laundry, some cleaning before picking up my book, it's really good, i'm at 60%. It's a beautiful scenery at the Tour this morning. Lots of greenish hills. 😀
