That was a fun read! It was a little dense and info dumping in places but I expect the from the first in a series

AUTUMN CHILLS | Agatha Christie

Mehso-so

My first Agatha Christie because I needed an autumn cover.

I've watched all of the adaptations so it was interesting to read the source material. I approve of the TV series inserting Hastings into everything.

Faranae TV show Hastings is also a huge improvement over book Hastings. Honestly, I like the Suchet Poirot better than the books (yes, yes, pillory me!). 18h

OutsmartYourShelf I've got this one but not got around to reading it yet. Nice autumn cover. 17h
OutsmartYourShelf @Faranae Honestly, same here. 17h
PuddleJumper @Faranae Good Lord! 😂 17h
LiteraryinPA Does this one go by a different name, I wonder? I haven‘t heard of it before. Hopefully that means I‘ve found a new one to read! She‘s one of my favorite authors. 15h
CSeydel @LiteraryinPA I was wondering that, too. 15h
PuddleJumper @LiteraryinPA @CSeydel It's a collection of short stories. It might be a new collection as there's also a winter one 15h

5/5

Every 13 years, in Carrion, GA the cicadas rise up from the ground and with them come the mysterious deaths on Lake Clearwater. Four teenagers are pulled into the mystery when a boy they all are connected to goes missing, and they learn about the devils that return to Carrion every thirteen years.

This was a great southern gothic with language that really transported me to Georgia.

We listened to this short audiobook in the car today and enjoyed it. Rick Steves has great philosophies about traveling and I enjoyed hearing about his early adventures.

We‘ve listened to this book a dozen times before in the car and we could probably listen to it a dozen times more. It‘s just a really good audiobook.

I ultimately found this novel more satisfying than I thought I might based on the earlier chapters. It's convoluted, but in a way I found fairly gripping. The characters could be more nuanced, and I couldn't read a lot of these kinds of books in a row because they would all blend together and annoy me, but it's nice as a diversion from time to time. #ScreamTeam #HauntedShelf #OneSnackToRuleThemAll #Chocolatiers

I read this for #FoodandLit #Samoa @texreader @catsandbooks

It's a novelization of Robert Lewis Stevenson's life. I didn't really get a feel of Samoa from it, but I did enjoy the relationship between RLS and Fanny. They both were ill at certain times in their lives and the ways they took care of each other were touching.

Anyone read any really good Samoa books?
