Traditional. This classic story of the tortoise and the hare is told though beautiful pictures that depict the action and moral of the story. Slow and steady wins the race and don't get to greedy just because you think something is going to be easy it might bite you in the butt.
The Tortoise and The Hare by Jerry Pinkney was written in 2013. This book is one that has not really any words and is based mainly on pictures. The illustrations did a fantastic job at telling the story! At some points though, the drawings were a little crowded. But, overall the book was very good and fun to go through!
I really really enjoyed reading this story. Jerry Pinkney‘s illustrations were marvelous. They almost were so descriptive that a reader could have understood the plot without having to read any words. The simplicity of this book was also enjoyable and made it easy to follow.
I think this would be a great book to show kids. The illustrations create the story and show how the race went for each animal in the competition. It also shows the difficulty or challenge of certain animals in the race. This would be a good lesson to explain that there are traits that could be beneficial in certain activities.
This book is great for kids to read because the images tell the story, and teachers can use this book as a tool to show if students can understand a story and can describe it after reading it. It would also be a great book for students who don‘t know how to read very well. There are some words, but they can easily be sounded out or read aloud.
