Biggles is one of the sweetest war books I've ever read. It follows a WWI pilot in the RAF and his daily fights in the skies above France. Even though it was written by a real pilot, the stories are still very sweet, yet thrilling and epic. The short stories are written so that you are afraid for the main characters but still know deep down he will survive every obstacle he faces.
