Christopher Rowe is back and there are more puzzles, riddles, and secrets to uncover in this third novel of the award-winning Blackthorn Key series. Wherever Christopher Rowe goes, adventure—and murder—follows. Even a chance to meet King Charles ends in a brush with an assassin. All that’s recovered from the killer is a coded message with an ominous sign-off: more attempts are coming. So when Christopher’s code-breaking discovers the attack’s true target, he and his friends are ordered to Paris to investigate a centuries-old curse on the French throne. And when they learn an ancient treasure is promised to any assassin who succeeds, they realize the entire royal family is at stake—as well as their own lives. In the third heart-pounding installment of the award-winning Blackthorn Key series, Christopher, Tom, and Sally face new codes, puzzles, and traps as they race to find the hidden treasure before someone else is murdered.

MissYaremcio Great review Nicole! I think I'll try working on the rest of the series in December! It looks good! Don't forget to include all elements of the assignment next time (you were missing the pacing)! Keep up the good work 5y

This is an awesome book that just seems to fly by do to the amount of cliffhangers and action. It is about a boy named Chris from England who is currently in Franc trying to stop an assassin(s) with his best friend Tom. He has stopped the helpers of the assassin(s) and has found the Templars treasure. If you like books that have lots of cliffhangers and action you will like this one.

MissYaremcio I'm glad you like this book! Great review! 5y

This book is amazing, it is about a boy named Christopher. He has gone to Paris under a different name to try and find an assassin who is trying to kill the royals of France. If you like books that contain adventure and cliff hangers you will like it. I would say the tone of the book is unknown to me at the moment.

MissYaremcio Well done Andrew! I am impressed with your review! If you are struggling with finding the tone of a poem, please do not be afraid to come ask me! I am usually able to help you find the tone with some prompting questions. 5y

I'm only about 100 pages into this amazing book!! If you like thrilling and exciting books, this is the book for you! The book is about two young boys going undercover to save the King, and Minette his cousin or royalty? I forgot. Anyways, the two boys discover an assassin on the loose, now they must be the hero's they are.

Nicole.Burman Btw there are about 532 pages and 5 pages in historical notes from the author himself, Kevin Sands. 5y
MissYaremcio I'm glad that you are enjoying the book so far!! Some of the punctuation in the post made it slightly confusing to read, but that is easily fixable. Make sure that when you do these posts that you include all elements of the assignment (you were missing the tone)! Well done! 5y
Nicole.Burman Also it was hard to type because I have a bandaid around my finger 5y

This one began as a family read-aloud & then my son couldn‘t wait & raced through it to the end. Tonight was my turn to catch up with Christopher in the third Blackthorn Key book. In this outing, an assassin tries to kill the King of England. Christopher & his friends go to France to investigate (for reasons) & what they find is a riddle & a curse which leads them on a hunt for the Templars‘ treasure. Great MG historical read entire family loves.

398.2 I love family read out load idea. So cute! 7y
