pickAnother book suggested for my uni course and this was a great introduction to some of the most well known poetic forms like sonnets, villanelles, sestinas, ballads, etc. This book includes really nice, simple explanations of the poetic form, a short history of the form and then numerous examples of the form used well. A very useful book and nice, easy introduction.
This wonderful book was co-written by Eavan Boland who has sadly passed away. Her poetry is wonderful but I haven‘t got anything here because I read her stuff when I was a student and didn‘t have money to buy her books. Have to change that asap.
