Native American Animal Stories is another TL book covering mythology of the creation of animals as well as explanations of why animals are/look/act the way they do. It lends itself again to a being a storytelling book as the “chapters” are short but cover full stories. Certain stories also lend themselves to being DR stories. #ucflae3414f17 UDL 2.3, 3.1 3.2, 6.3, 7.2, 7.3, and 9.3. ESOL 1, 4, 16, and 27.

DeannaT96 I think that following reading some of the stories in the book, the best way to really bring home the TL aspect of the book would be to have students create their own creation stories. http://www.cpalms.org/Public/PreviewResourceLesson/Preview/48954 (edited) 7y
ashley.v I think your lesson for after reading this book is an excellent idea. Creation stories are always fun to read. 7y
DrSpalding Creating their own creation stories could be a fun addition to a Native American social studies unit as well. We need for our students to write often in order to support their quest of becoming proficient writers. 7y
