I got this book at the dollar store. I actually really enjoyed it as a quick, easy, and entertaining read. Very cute. 💐

Covering everything from depression and assault to friendship and healing, this YA debut seems to have it all. And while I enjoyed the fantastic paternal presence and carefree friendships, the dual POV wound up feeling repetitive and downright preachy at times, which reduced the overall emotional impact.

Hazel is no stranger to heartbreak, being sent to live with a father shes never met is the latest in a string of them. Even the beauty of Australia isn‘t enough to take her mind off her mother and the life she left behind. When she meets the kindhearted Red and his twin Luca, she begins the process of piecing together a new life.
