The stories range within the horror spectrum from gory to disturbing to scary and disgusting. Each story has a distinct voice and atmosphere. I wanted to be grossed out more by the story "Hair," but since I've read a couple books by Carlton Mellick III my gross out bar is set extremely high. If you like stories with classic horror elements and a dash of bizarro thrown in here and there, this is a collection sure to please. Great job, Mike!!

I went to Mike Thorn's book launch of his short story collection called Darkest Hours at Owls Nest tonight. Enjoyed his reading and very happy for him! Looking forward to digging in to this creepy collection 😊
