Kassie is a teenage girl struggling to come to terms with the events in her past and to accept her life for what it is. Kassie has to deal with her own personal struggles as well as all the normal things that every other teenager must face. Having yet to overcome her father’s death, Kassie wants nothing more than to erase that one event from history. Just when she thinks her life has hit rock bottom, fate steps in to turn her world completely upside down. Quinn enters her life and offers her everything she’s dreamed of. He brings happiness and peace back into her life. What she is completely unaware of is that Quinn was sent to her by the Book of Ages. Guarded and kept secret by a group known as the Guardians, the Book of Ages contains the entire history of the world, from the beginning to the present. The book can be used to alter history when written in by a predestined Scribe. What Kassie doesn’t know is that the book has prophesied her to be the new Scribe, as well as Quinn’s soul-mate. Understanding her importance to both the book as well as to him, Quinn struggles with telling her the truth about who he is and just what he helps to protect. He knows that she still grieves for the loss of her father and would like nothing more than to go back and change what happened to him, something he cannot allow her to do. He knows, and understands, the effect changing one event could have on the future. Believing that her life is finally heading in the right direction with Quinn, Kassie is caught completely by surprise when everything starts to unravel. She learns that Quinn has been lying to her from the beginning and one of the few people she believed she could trust the most in her life is not exactly who he seems. She begins to learn the real truth about events in her own life and those she thought she could trust. Quinn must fight to regain Kassie's trust while trying to protect her from a part of the past everyone thought was dead and gone, a danger that threatens to force her to rewrite history itself.
