Riptide
Riptide | Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child
5 posts | 29 read | 4 to read
IN 1695, a notorious English pirate buried his bounty in a maze of booby-trapped tunnels on an island off the coast of Maine. In three hundred years, no one has breached this cursed and rocky fortress. Now a treasure hunter and his high-tech, million-dollar recovery team embark on the perfect operation to unlock the labyrinth's mysteries. First the computers fail. The then crewmen begin to die. The island has guarded its secrets for centuries, and it isn't letting them go--without a fight.

Mehso-so

Book 8 of #MountTBR - This is a stand-alone book. Typically I can‘t put down a Preston & Child book, but this one felt sluggish. The premise of a dangerous search for pirate treasure on a booby trapped island should have been more gripping. I didn‘t feel much attachment to any of the characters. I recommend reading Thunderhead instead. #Booked2018 #swordonthecover

Finished May 1.

Cinfhen I spotted that sword right away 🙌🏻⚔️ 6y
Bookzombie @Cinfhen That‘s so funny, because I had a romance on deck for this category and then looked at the cover of this one day when I sat it down and was like “oh, a sword”. Lol. 6y
vivastory Will definitely be checking out Thunderhead! 6y

#anditsaugust Day 9 Thriller/suspense books are almost always a quick read for me. I think these three will be going on vacation with me soon. #quickreads

Bookzombie @JaclynW I'm looking forward to it. I met the author in April at our book festival and she said that it would be a good vacation read. 🙂 7y
