The Dancing Bear | 
This is a very brief book, which was really lovely, until the end, when it got very sad.
I read it aloud to my son. He was quite devastated at the end, when Roxanne gave in to temptation, Bruno, the bear died of a broken heart & Roxanne left the the village. He said, “but stories are supposed to have happy endings!” I told him not all stories have happy endings, life isn‘t like that. & the story doesn‘t really end there, anyway, Life continues
