4 posts | 1 read
Cancer survivor Hannah Ives looked Death in the eye . . . and walked away victorious. But the terror she once felt in its shadow pales before the ice-cold fear that now grips her heart in the wake of an unthinkable crime: the kidnapping of Hannah's innocent grandson. One-year-old Tim vanished from the day care center at the luxurious upscale spa his parents recently opened, and the lack of a ransom note suggests the innocent child may have fallen into the hands of the worst sort of fiend. Hannah will find no peace until the boy is found and his abductor punishednot even taking comfort in the caring words of a dear friend and spiritual advisor whose own life and marriage may be haunted by something dark and sinister. But the hunt may be leading Hannah to places she never dreamed she'd have to go . . .

I purchased this book in a whim. It took me three tries to get into it. Being a mystery surrounding a kidnapped baby, it‘s stressful subject matter that I usually stay away from. But once I found my determination to plough through my hesitation, I did enjoy this book. I will be open to reading more from this author.

When your work still calls you at 3am and then 6:30am even though you are on vacation. So, I‘m awake. Don‘t have to check out till 11 so going to finish this. And wait for the next phone call....

I‘m a sucker for buying books at Kroger while grocery shopping. Picked this one up a few months ago and have tried to start it three times. Other things got in the way. Going to give it another go.
