Sorry to say, I had to bail on this one. The protagonist (an immortal born in 13th century England) was interesting, but the story dragged. Lots of info dumping, pointless flashbacks, and stereotypical vampires. Plus, I hated the protagonist ' s vampire girlfriend who served no purpose in the narrative except as eye candy. The author shows promise, but this read too much like teen male wish fulfillment. 😕

jwashreads I love how it says, "young" billionaire has hunted killers for 700 years! Have you started it yet? What's the context of that? Do people in this book live millenia? 6y

lyradora That "young" is misleading; he only looks like he's in his early 30s. In this world, the supernatural is hidden. The protagonist is a 700 year-old immortal; he can die, but regenerates Wolverine-style. (It still hurts, though, so dying is not fun.) It's getting harder and harder for him to hide, so he stays in LA and donates a *lot* of money to local police asdociations. When he does help out on supernatural cases, he tries to avoid the media. 6y
