Read for #JoysofJune (No 4), #Booked2021 (contains photos) AND #14Books14Weeks2021 (No 3)! 🥳

Turns out the dinos 🦖 🦕 are actually in the basement! 😆 Published in 1986, this short history of the NYC institution is a little dated in language and observations of non-Eurocentric cultures. But overall it was a fine and interesting introduction to the museum and its collections. The pictures could have been MUCH better. Thank goodness for Google!

Ruthiella @Cinfhen Clearly the publishers did not put a lot of $$ into the photos in it! 🙄 4y

We went to the Museum of Natural History today and I was reminded of this book that I had checked out of the library years ago and completely loved! It was written by the museum‘s columnist at the time. He writes about the museum‘s history and fascinating legends. I kept trying to retell these stories to my husband, but sucked because I read it so long ago. Well, the gift shop had the book I was trying to recall, so now I own it and can refresh!
