Found this at an antique shop. Published before Disneyland opened, it‘s about a little leprechaun looking man who lives in a house in the orange groves and was upset his habitat was being torn down (to make way for Disneyland). Mickey and friends show him the plans for Disneyland and he negotiates as long as he can have a house in Disneyland. In the real Disneyland, if you search carefully, you can find the little man‘s house in Adventureland!
Super cute as with the first two! Last book in this clever Christmas trilogy, this one is a story of a clash between Christmas and Easter, with some masked current day political issues concerning the media woven in that probably only adults reading it to their kid would pick up on!
Someone gave this to me. wtf? Sounds awesome, don‘t even need to read the back.
Started Christmas hiking in the ice with my crazy father-in-law, and now I‘m trying to thaw out with a festive tale.
It was hard not to buy this, but I really have more journals and notebooks than I know what to do with, so I resisted and took a picture and left it at that! (If anyone needs this, it‘s at Barnes and Noble!)
We had big plans to lay around in pajamas and read books tonight, but ended up meeting John Hodgman, who not only removed my bookmark and lost my place in the book I was reading, but he defaced it with a sharpie.
Almost two years ago I said I was going to read this on my next snow day. Well, that day has finally come!! ❄️❄️❄️
What the hell is this? Do you chop yourself into bits, put the bits in a mason jar, and pressure cook yourself so your grandkids can one day eat you...? #litsyhumor
Two white monsters and a book. #catsoflitsy
It‘s chilly out, but I‘m trying to enjoy the last days of being able to leave the house without freezing to death. Out on the gazebo with a nice thick book listening to noisy bluejays. 💕
This is why it takes me so long to read books now. #catsoflitsy
Been waiting for this book for like two years, did not expect it to weigh as much as my lardo cat. With the rate I read books lately, I should have it finished just in time for book 3. (I‘m not complaining.)
Hi, there is a giant cat on me and now I can‘t see. #catsoflitsy
“Lawns are nature purged of sex and death. No wonder Americans like them so much.”
aggghhg the freshmen have just arrived on campus and they are EVERYWHERE and it has become difficult to find a quiet retreat on my break! Fortunately, those suckers haven‘t been here nearly long enough to have discovered the japanese garden. Coincidentally, I‘m reading about gardening.
My first Stephen King novel and I‘m sorry to say I wasn‘t crazy about it. Lacked the suspense and horror I was expecting from King. Maybe this isn‘t a typical Stephen King novel and not great for first timers! But besides that, it was entertaining enough though, and I adored the sweet relationship between the narrator and Mike. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Yep, reading my first Stephen King novel. Canobie Lake, an old school amusement park my husband and I go to in the summers, was the inspiration for this novel, which peaked my interest. So far I‘m a quarter of the way through and still waiting for something to happen. The suspense is killing me!
Ladies, if you want a purse that is ALL the things: durable, functional, compact, AND inexpensive, I figured out the trick - you have to google “man purse”. I ordered this thing from Amazon and it has 6 pockets plus 4 pouches, including one pocket in the back that makes an ideal book pocket! I loved this novel! An epic chronicle of 3 generations of a Korean family living in Japan. It‘s fiction, but I learned sooo much about Korean and Japanese culture and history through it and how drastically it changed (and not changed) over the course of less than a century. The level of research and detail is astonishing. It‘s fiction, but so real at the same time. If culture and the humanities fascinate you, this is must read.
1. We bought a house in January and I still need to remove the wallpaper and paint our super ugly kitchen before it gets cold out again and I‘m forced to shut the windows.
2. Hiking
3. my backyard
4. The former owner had a pet cemetery in the backyard that was so overgrown and full of pricker bushes and poison ivy. I fixed it up! I‘ll do more when I have a fresh start next spring, but it looks so much better!

Book store raid today. I planted a bunch of veggies and herbs last spring, followed package directions, and my big summer bounty ended up being 2 radishes, a few green beans, and a sage leaf...😭
So August seems like a great time to learn about gardening, right?

Take a shot for each one you‘ve done!

🍺 had a goat 😭
🥃 run for public office
🍸 visited the biggest ball of twine in Minnesota
🍷 lost a limb
Not really a what I‘d call a “beach read”, but I beach read it all day and it‘s still so good!
How am I already on book II?? I honestly wasn‘t expecting to like this one and thought it would be another book I give up on after 2 chapters, but boy was I wrong! I haven‘t been so sucked into a book in over a year.
Our living room has been dismantled for nearly a month while we work on redoing the walls and floors. So happy to be done and can put my house back in order! Took forever thanks to the previous owner being the world‘s WORST DIYer, but the hard work has paid off - it looks soooo much better than it did before! Leaving the old and worn trim for now for a later project. Working now on putting the library half of the living room back together. Yay!!!
I‘ve been outside reading the beginning chapters of “Pachinko” and the weather keeps doing that thing where it‘s sunny out and raining at the same time.

1. Summer nights and all the night sounds. Camping. Lightning bugs. Going to the beach. Slow paced work days. Ice cream. Farm stands. (I love summer!)
2. I wish Christmas could be year-round! Although me and my husband watched Home Alone last month, so I got a taste of it at least.
3. Usually the sun.
4. I‘m on the toilet. 👍
This book contains the most flavorful and colorful summer ratatouille recipe I‘ve ever made. It‘s become a regular in our dinner cycles. Very healthy too!
My biggest complaint about Stranger Things (really ONLY complaint, I love that show) is that it‘s not a book! As a joke, my husband surprised me with this book! It‘s sort of a prequel with Eleven‘s mother‘s backstory. So far, it‘s poorly written trash, which is completely what I expected and has not disappointed. I‘m kind of in the mood for mindless trash anyway.
Finished last month‘s #ookbookclub on Friday while offline in the Adirondacks with a friend. Loved it! Death is the best! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
#humpdaypost @DebbieGrillo @MinDea
1. poppies! Mine are blooming away despite our extremely non-Californian climate!
2. Haven‘t been reading much still, but our #ookbookclub read this month has been pretty fantastic so far. (tagged)
3. I‘m binging Stranger Things now for the umpteenth time. Can‘t wait for season 3!!
4. sorry but Dr Seuss is the man.
We have cute babies under our lean-to. Not 100% sure what they are, but I think they probably belong to the eastern phoebe that hangs around there all day. According to my bird book, they‘re only up here during the summer.
“Dead people walking around is unhygienic.”

1. hmm...new meds?
2. Tim Minchin is my patronus.
3. I once allowed my husband to give me a quick trim. NEVER AGAIN.
4. I‘m obsessed with Disneyland.
5. Hufflefluff and Tewsy, friends 4eva 💞
I‘ve been putting this book off for almost a year after reading and loving Mort. I‘ve just been waiting and waiting for #ookbookclub to get to it. At last, the time has come!
Carrie Fisher rocks. I love her pure shamelessness, her willingness to be so open about everything, and her extraordinary humor. Great read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I can‘t forget that stupid, fucking hologram speech! That‘s why I did dope!”
😂🤣😱
oh, sweet, perfect. The text is in some giant middle readers type font. I can handle this! Slightly disappointed though that the whole thing isn‘t written in emoji-lingo like her amazingly ridiculous, incomprehensible twitter page. ❤️
hell yeah, #humpdaypost! @DebbieGrillo @MinDea
1. I found a perfect dining room table that‘s solid wood and big enough for guests and it was free out of some old guy‘s garage. 👍
2. Harry Potter
3. er...hang on, let me get out my bird book.
4. Catcher in the Rye
