I very rarely have a DNF, mainly bc I try to finish a book no matter what. But good Lord, this book was some form of cruel and unusual punishment. I tried I really did, but the angsty, pedantic, and overly decadent characters eventually eroded away at my nerves and I gave up about 67% of the way though the book. I tried...I think the writing style is what might've held me for so long. Let's just say I FINALLY 'unteathered' myself from this book.

I seem to be taking my time with this one. It's a rather long story and even though getting to know the characters and their stories is interesting, I'm beginning to get bored with how long it's taking to weave them together.

So far my only qualms with this book is, it has so much backstory for every character and bc of this you nearly get lost trying to keep up with them. I'm hoping this pays off in the end but I'm already in chapters 8 and more characters still are being introduced. At this point the author needs to quit being decadent and start weeding out the ones that aren't useful. #IMO

This one is next on my list. I do like a good scifi so let's hope it holds up to the hype I've seen about it.
