The Voyage of the Dawn Treader sees Edmund and Lucy, along with their priggish cousin Eustace Scrubb, return to Narnia. Once there, they join Caspian's voyage on the ship to find the seven lords who were banished when Miraz took over the throne. As they sail toward Aslan's country at the edge of the world, they come face to face with many dangers and wonders, including the place where dreams come true. They discover that their quest is more than they imagined and that the world's end is only the beginning

Another great one off my tbr list. I have the #nadniareadalong group to thank for that. 😁

Honestly, the book is better than the movie. I‘ll miss Lucy and Edmund. The Pevensies were my favorite characters. In a way, they‘re relatable.
I hope the new characters introduced in the next few books will hopefully, if not replace them, will be reminiscent of their time there.

Rating: 4.5/5

A king and some unexpected companions embark on a voyage that will take them beyond all known lands. As they sail farther and farther from charted waters, they discover that their quest is more than they imagined and that the world's end is only the beginning.

Lucy and Edmund and their cousin meet up with King Caspian and go on a voyage on the Dawn Treader.

The narrator does a mouse voice that is almost painful to listen to.

The characters go on a quest that‘s filled with unexpected challenges & missdventure. Each has to overcome temptations in order to become a better person. This approaches psychedelic levels of high fantasy. Makes sense; it ends in a rapture. Decades have passed since I first read this. The idea that Aslan/God can make me feel enlightened and safe bumps hard against my beliefs. But I will always like any book that lets you jump into the picture.
