A sometimes heartbreaking story of a girls life growing up on Mango Street.

There are a lot of great one liners in this book. It also at times left you wishing for more information before it went to the next page.

Soon to be graduated, Mikey has a hard time dealing with the upcoming changes to his life meanwhile there is an apocalypse occurring in the background that semi affects the main characters friend group.

I feel like there were way too many random loose ends that was forgotten or edited out or it was on purpose, but it made the book feel unfinished.

This book about whales going after Toby Wick has no right to be this good. I highly recommend.

This book did not age well. Or maybe I have grown past the angsty teen hate drama. I used to love to read this book at least once a year while growing up but I could barely get through all of the judgment and self pity that that main character “dishes” out.

I started this book on a plane trip to Seattle. It held my attention long enough to go back to it later this month. A harrowing story about a mother trying to survive during the Great Depression. A tough book to read as a mom. I can‘t imagine the choices that had to be made at that time to survive and ensure your kids survived as well.

This book had been on my shelf for years and I always avoided it because of the title. I had no interest. I purchased the book because of the cover…never judge a book by its cover or it‘s title. After a two month cold spell in reading, I finished this book in three nights (only about 30 minutes or so on a good day, mom of a toddler and it‘s virus season). It‘s heartbreaking and captivating. I highly recommend this for a quick read!

The story focuses on how his family has bad luck, fuku, and trying to defeat but I think most of their problems would be solved if they didn‘t believe liars so much.

I really enjoyed this tale immensely even if half the time, I was getting frustrated with their decisions.

I like this story more than the old stories of Tally and Shay. There is no best friend rivalry which is prevalent in the old stories.
